Deep trailer hit sounds for a product reveal: which license you need

A product reveal comes down to one frame: the moment the product appears. Deep trailer hit sounds for a product reveal give that frame weight. But the sound is only half the job. The other half is the license, and the right one depends on where the video runs and who made it. This guide follows one real sound through three common uses so you can see which card covers each.

The sound in this example

The example is Deep Trailer Hit. It is a sound effect in the Impacts category, by Wavecrate Foley Lab. It runs 0:03 and was released on Sep 20, 2026. The page describes it as "a clean, ready-to-drop sound effect for boom and trailer moments." Its tags are epic, boom, trailer and hit.

It is marked Premium. That matters. There is no Free card on this page. Its page lists two licenses:

  • Standard, listed at $3: "Online content for one creator or business, no credit needed." It covers all online platforms, monetized. It covers your own business and brand videos. No credit is required. Your registered channels are printed on the certificate. It is also included with Pro.
  • Extended, listed at $9: "Paid ads, broadcast, apps, games and client work." It covers everything in Standard, plus paid advertising and TV or radio broadcast, apps, games and software, and client work with unlimited impressions.

Items can switch between Free and Premium. The cards above were live on 11 Oct 2026. Read the page on the day you download. Paid licenses are not on sale yet (Wavecrate says purchases open soon), so these are the listed prices for when sales open, while sounds marked Free can already be downloaded with a free account.

Use 1: your own unboxing or review video

Say you run a YouTube channel. You unbox a new pair of headphones. The lid comes off, the product is in frame, and you want a deep hit right there.

This is online content for one creator. Your channel, your video, monetized or not. That is what Standard is for. Standard for this sound is listed at $3, and Pro would cover it too once Pro is on sale. You do not need to put a credit in the description, because Standard says no credit is required.

Make sure the channel you publish on is the one you register. The certificate prints your registered channels. If you later post the same video on TikTok or Instagram, those are still online platforms, and Standard says all online platforms.

Use 2: your company's own reveal video

Now say you run a small brand. You film a reveal of your new product. You post it on your own website, your YouTube channel and your Instagram page. Nobody pays to push it. It is just your brand's own content.

Standard covers this too. The card lists "Your own business and brand videos" by name. So Standard on this sound (listed at $3), or Pro once it is on sale, covers your own reveal on your own site and your own social accounts.

This is where a lot of people slip. They find a Free sound and assume it covers the brand video. It does not. More on that below.

Use 3: paid launch ads, client work and apps

The same reveal can grow into something bigger. Each of these needs Extended, listed at $9:

  1. A paid launch ad. You put money behind the reveal so it shows to people who do not follow you. The site does not define "paid advertising" further, so treat a boosted post as a paid ad too.
  2. Client work. You are an agency or a freelance editor. You cut the reveal for a client's product. The card names client work under Extended.
  3. An app or game. The hit plays inside your app when a new feature unlocks, or in a game on a level reveal. Apps, games and software sit under Extended.

Pro does not help here. Pro gives you Standard on the whole catalog, never Extended. If the reveal turns into an ad, that sound needs Extended.

One more case. If you plan to play the hit at a live launch event or a keynote screening, that use is not named in the license table. Treat it as not covered.

Where the one Free impact sound fits

The Impacts category held 10 sounds on 11 Oct 2026. Only one was marked Free: Tech Braam, Long, Warm, Voice by Signal Lab. It runs 0:03. The page calls it "The sound of a huge low synth brass blast that opens up and fades into a big room." It comes as a 24-bit WAV master and a 320 kbps MP3.

Its Free card reads "Online videos and podcasts, with credit." It covers YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch and podcasts, including monetized channels. Credit text is required in the description. A free account gets 3 free downloads a month.

So the Free card fits Use 1: a creator's own online video, with credit in the description. It does not cover Use 2. Your own business and brand content sits under Standard, not Free. For that sound, Standard is listed at $5 and Extended at $19.

The rest of the category includes sub hits, other braams, a logo sting, a metallic boom and a glitch impact. Prices for the other Signal Lab sounds differ by item, so check each page.

How to place deep trailer hit sounds for a product reveal

A few plain habits make a hit land:

  • Land it on the cut to the product. The hit and the first clear shot of the product should arrive together.
  • Leave a beat of silence before it. A short gap gives the hit room, so you do not need to push the volume.
  • Do not stack hits. One hit per reveal. Two or three in a row blur together and lose their weight.
  • Keep it below a voice. If someone is speaking over the reveal, the voice comes first.

A 0:03 sound is short. That helps. It hits, fades and gets out of the way before your next line.

Before you choose, play two or three hits from the category against your actual footage. A hit that sounds great on its own can feel wrong under your shot. Pick the one that matches the mood of the product, then check its card. The sound you like best is only useful if its license fits where the video will run.

Keep your proof

Every license comes with a certificate and a code. Anyone can check that code at wavecrate.vlvd.net/verify without contacting Wavecrate. Save the certificate with your project files. If a client or a teammate asks what license you used, you can point them to the code.

With Pro, content you publish while subscribed stays covered. Pro is listed at $99 a year or $12 month to month, and is not on sale yet. Details are on the pricing page.
